All growing piglets, i.e. piglets, finishers and gilts (without an assigned animal number) must be registered under the menu "Progeny" - "Dead" when they die or are euthanised.
Record the following:
Event date: For death or euthanasia
Location - Code: Which location the pig is from
No. of pigs: How many have died or been euthanised
Weight - Total kg: Sum for all dead pigs (calculated automatically if "Weight/Avg") is entered)
Weight - Average kg: Average weight for one pig (calculated automatically if "Total" weight is entered)
Death Type: Choose between "0 Death" or "1 Euthanised"
You can also enter the cause of death, e.g. code "0" for bad leg. This is optional.
It is possible to see available causes of death by standing in the column and clicking on the "Find" icon:
Here you can also add new reasons in the bottom column.
