In CropVision we make a distinction between fields and cultures. Via Registration, Culture registration you can switch between Fields and Cultures at the top left (red arrow).

On a Field (a part of agricultural land) one or more crops can be grown. These are called cultures.

The following data are registered in a field:

  • Name
  • Soil type
  • Size
  • Country
  • Start and End Date
  • Site
  • Field location

The following data are registered in a culture:

  • Name
  • Year
  • Crop
  • Crop attribute
  • Variety
  • Size
  • Start and End Date
  • The linked field
  • History (previous culture and previous year same crop)

You can connect a crop to a field.

Several crops can grow on a field in a cropyear, for example:

  • Several crops that are grown on part of the field.
  • Crops that follow each other over time (e.g. a green manure grown after the wheat).

On the other hand, a culture can only grow on one field.

Crops are used to register operations. So if you want to register, choose cultures at the top left of CropVision.

Tip 1: click Registration, Cropping Scheme for the cropping scheme. You can see which fields and cultures are linked per cropyear.

Tip 2: always make sure you add the field first. With the reference layer Own field plots, you can easily take over the plots.
