How to work with menu and filters

As an example, open the period overview, the functionality of the filters and navigation buttons are the same in all reports.

In the image below you'll see the icons that are situated in the top of the screen.

- Question mark: By clicking this icon you'll go the selfservice portal.

- Binocular: By clicking this icon you'll go to the advanced search screen.

- Farm selection: Here you're able to select one or multiple farms.

To open the "Menu & Filters" click the arrow in the top on the ar bar on the left side of the screen. Then all the menu items and filters will show.

The image below show the opened "Menu & filters" screen:

Below you find a description of all the items in the "Menu & filter" screen. When change the report, the filters will be saved until changed or closing the report.

The first option is the litter filter where you can type in or shuffle on which litter number(s) you want to see the results of.

The next option is the period selection. The default is the last 3 running months. There are several fixed periods and it's also possible to enter your own period by selecting the "Custom" option.

It's also possible to put a filter on a report based on the farm characteristic(s). Again use the CTRL button to select several.

In the bottom you'll find blue buttons. These buttons will navigate you to underlying report(s) within the same subject. Each ''Menu & filters'' in the different reports got their own buttons to see underlying reports.

Report functions

In all tables/graphs where periods are shown it's possible to drill up and drill down (not in the litter/cycle reports). Therefore, you can use the arrow icons mentioned below.

This icon activates the drill up function. It will be greyed out when you're not able to drill up any further.

When you click on this icon the drill mode will be activated. It will looks like the image below.

With this option activated you can click on the year and then it will be drilled down to quarter level.

Then when you click on 2023 you'll get an extra level with quarter 1 and 2 as shown below.

This icon activates drill down function to the second level of the hierarchy but not just for the selected year. As example you select whole 2021 and 2022 as period selection. Then this drill down will show the quarters/months of the years combined.

This icon activates drill down fuction to the second level of the hierarchy but does it year by year. As example you select whole 2021 and 2022 as period selection. Then this drill down will show the quarters/months of the years separately.

This icon activates the focus mode and will show the selected table/graph in a full screen mode.

Then you've the three dots which will give you more options on the tables/graphs. Like export data shown in the image below.

Benchmark functionality

In MSM sows it's possible to compare farm and group results to selected benchmark(s). Below the image of the period overview of benchmarks. As you can see in the "Menu & filters" there is an extra filter option called "Benchmark(s)".

The benchmark functionality is available in the reports:

  • Litter overview
  • Period overview
  • Service, farrowing, weaning analysis
  • Benchmark report

The benchmark(s) can be setup in the "Pigs Monitor". Via this link Pigs Monitor you can open the guide for the "Pigs Monitor". To learn about how to set up benchmarks.

Compared versus individually results

In MSM Sows it is possible to select one farm or with CTRL button do a multi select of farms. Several graphs in MSM Sows have the possibility to show the results of an indicator per farm or as an average.

In below image several farms are selected and in the first view you see the results combined next to a benchmark. With a click on the icon, where the arrow is directing to, you will get the results per selected farm.

Below screen will be shown, like you see the left top graph is changed from combined results to results per farm which are selected. Pressing again on the icon where the arrow is directing to will show the graph with the combined results again.

Interaction between graphs

MSM Sows is an interactive reporting tool. There are several graphs which are connected to each other which means clicking in a graph by period will also filter the graph based on litter. Below an example.

View of selected farms where in the top graph the farrowing %  over a period is shown and in the bottom graph the farrowing % per litter is shown.

Clicking in the graph per litter for example on litter 2 will highlight it in the bottom graph and the top graph per period is changed. The top graph now shows the results for litter 2 over time.
Clicking again on the litter 2 point in the bottom graph will deactivate the filtering. This works also vice versa.
